Fill ‘er up. And be sure to check the oil.
This is the Sprague & Sexton garage on King Street in Timaru, New Zealand, circa 1935. At the time, i t was common for aircraft to taxi up from the nearby airfield to refuel from the avgas pumps.

At a first guess, the car may be a ‘28 Morris Cowley of some kind.

I’m not sure
Trailer Park Boys
has any mitigating context, ever, but that’s what it is.

Randy went to jail for checking Private Dancers oil, which was caught by CCTV cameras.
Totally relevant.

Better guess than I could have come up with.

It didn’t look like anything American, and in Kiwiland I wouldn’t have expected it to be - nor, say, French unless imported from French Indochina, etc. The easy guesses were “British”/”Aussie” and “Cheap”, because British sphere of influence and import costs and rough conditions would make an expensive car a fool’s errand. Having an exposed (cosmetic) radiator sets an end marker for YOM as no later than about ‘30/’31 for almost anything, and having parking lights suggests no earlier than mid-20s.
I checked the full size Austins and WIllys-Knights (Aussie) of that year range, not even close. Checked Morris, it was pretty close, that was the first guess.
HOWEVER: one other possibility occurred to me, and in its light and having checked I would like to revise my guess.
‘23-’29
Armstrong-Siddeley 14HP
. In use in Oz, slightly lower headlights, matching doors, lighter angles on the radiator cowl, a split windshield, and *the clincher* - the stamped steel two-piece wheels. This is it, I have absolutely no doubt.

That’s some fine police work, Lou.

To that photo, the only response I can muster is “W

I think your second guess is the more likely. Window shape, radiator shape, front bumper...

Better question: can I
un-
watch it?

But it
does
have some poor acting, so maybe that’s good.

There’s a reason I said I was certain. Ride height, radiator shape, wheel design (distinctive beyond any reasonable measure), fender stampings, headlight height, radiator cap design, hood design, door layout and hinge direction, roof shape, windshield, suspension, and many other details make it hard for me to imagine it could be anything else.
Even without knowing that Armstrong Siddeleys were particularly favored in the Empire overseas for their rough road capability.
